Anecdotal

It Has Been A Year

October 26, 2015

Dear Reader,

The first posts on this blog were published on 26.10.2014. Thus,  the first anniversary of this blog falls today. And I write this to express my gratitude for all those who have been supporting, encouraging and inspiring me in commencing and continuing with this venture.

I had completed three articles for my blog during the period between the conception and implementation of the blog. The first article that had carried the caption ‘Terrors of the Twilight Stage’, dealt with ageing, sickness and death. (Click Here to Read the Post)*.

The second article discussed the need for overcoming our own negativism and  self-doubts to be successful in our missions. The article ‘You are Your Own Worst Enemy’ tells the real life story of a famous English novelist who had started his career life as medical doctor, to drive home this point.   (Click Here to Read the Post).

It was expected in the beginning that bulk of my readers would be people who had known me from my career life. I, therefore, thought that an article on some of my experience as an employee could interest my readers. So, the third article entitled ‘My Unforgettable Boss’ narrated such a true experience. This article still remains the most read and commented post so far on this blog.  (Click Here to Read the Post).

The first article was written when my father was on his deathbed and my mind was deeply disturbed seeing his plight. But when it came to publishing the article, I had second thoughts about starting my blog with a first article that sounded quite melancholic. So, I interchanged the positions of the first and second articles. All three were published together on 26.10.2014.

My father passed away a week after the publication of the posts. The last article entitled  ‘In the Memory of My Mother’ was published in the aftermath of the death of my mother. I wrote it hoping that the reader would pause for a moment in the memory of their parents.

I have so far written twenty-seven articles for this blog and another two as a guest author for another blog,Speakpost’. It does not surprise me that I do not have a huge readership. I discuss serious topics.  Also my articles are lengthy and the language might not be very easy for the average reader. Nevertheless, the articles published at speakpost were big hits. A good number of my readers are from outside India.

I am grateful to all my readers. I thank you for your continued interest in what I write. I have not made any special efforts to give publicity to this blog. Readers alone are the promoters of this blog. I remain indebted to you for your valuable comments and suggestions.  I also thank my friends and family for suggesting  the idea of the blog and for providing necessary inputs and support to keep it running.

I step into the second year hoping that more readers would discover this blog. I hope that more youngsters would spare their time to benefit from the lessons of life that most of my posts seek to provide. I also hope that I would  write better on more varied and popular issues in the future. And finally, I hope that I would be alive and kicking to pen the next anniversary message on 26.10.2016.
I thank you for everything.

Regards,

Sincerely,

 V Georgekutty
